Hey Dome Film fans, the Craig Cromwell League kicks off it’s 26th summer tonight (7/18) at The Dome. 6pm is game #1 for the boys. Tomorrow night (6/19) will be the first night for the girls, also tipping off at 6pm. 2011 schedules can be found below this post.
As for a premiere for the film from last summer, Coach Wells and I are still waiting to here back on a potential venue. If it comes down to it I will make it available online for viewing later this summer. Stay tuned for more and thank you for all your patience. Be sure to check out the latest HD trailer under the videos section.
Last night was a successful night for the Dome Film project as I took in the 6th Annual BMORE HOOPS Anniversary Celebration. I got to see some great games, interviewed rising stars Aquille Carr and Will Barton, and chatted it up with legends Mark Karcher and Sam Cassell.
Middle school and high school-aged kids left it all out on the court for this special event, with the area’s most exciting action coming at night. In addition to the numerous all-star games, spectators were treated to a dunk contest featuring some of Baltimore’s top high school dunkers. Below is some of what I saw……
A special thanks to all the people from BMORE HOOPS and Shawntra’ O’Neal for letting me film last night.
On Monday I had a chance to chat with Brad Eye who was on assignment for ESPN RISE, a branch of ESPN dedicated entirely to high school sports. He was at The Dome as part of a Summer web-series on streetball courts entitled “Rucker to Venice.” Other courts include Rucker Park(NY), Hank Gathers Rec (PA), The Cage (NY), Fosco Park (IL) Venice Beach, etc.
You can check out his mini-article, pics, and video clips here.
Sad news out of Baltimore today, as local Our Lady of Mount Carmel standout John Crowder was killed by gunfire early Monday morning. Crowder, who had played for Towson Catholic before the school closed last summer, was a highly sought after power forward recruit. He was 17. My condolences to his family and all those who knew John.
